Supernatural destinations are my forte. I love to write about exotic places and haunted locations.

Wales is rich with places where the spirit world slips past its borders to reach out and touch the living. Underneath are three of the most fantastic, supernatural haunted locations in Wales where visitors and scientists can come, live a piece of history and enjoy a brief visit with the things that go bump in the night.
The Top Three Haunted Locations in Wales
1.) The Vyrnwy Reservoir-Formerly the Valley of Vyrnwy at Llanwddyn in Powys before it was flooded to create the reservoir that supplies thousands of homes, this place holds the distinction of being one of the most frightening places in North Wales. In the 1870s a vicar once attempted to count all the spooks who haunted the Valley of the Vyrnwy. The thirteen spirits who called this place home before it was submerged included a large bull, a pack of hounds and one who appeared as sheets of light. Not content to allow the living to go on their merry way, these spirits had a tremendous tendency to get into mischief. They would throw mud and dirt at passers-by and slaughter the sheep of the local villagers. One was even reputed to be a bit of a highwayman! With its natural beauty the reservoir has become a tremendous tourist attraction for visitors to Wales, but many say that these mischievous spirits are just lying in wait for their chance to once again torment the people of the village.
2.) A study done by Wintersteel.com found that the choice for the second most notorious haunted location in Wales was easy-the most ghastly ghost in Wales makes his home in the Gloddaeth Woods near Llandudno. The story goes that a fox hunter hiding in the forest waiting for his prey came face to face with a ghost, completely nude with eyes burning fire. The ghost stood and watched him all night long, giving him no respite in either solitude or death, until the cock crowed and the creature disappeared with the morning sun. Who was it? To this day, no one knows.
3.) In the Ogof mine on a limestone hill above the village of Llanymynech on the border of Powys with Shropshire it is said that a treacherous fate awaits anyone foolish enough to step close enough for the cave to reach out and drag them inside. A musician named Ned Pugh is reputed to have entered the mine with nothing but his fiddle and candle to keep him safe. Ned was never seen again, but his ghost has been seen in the mouth of the cave, dancing and fiddling devilishly to the light of the moon.
These are just the top three haunted locations in Wales. There are many more! It has been said that Wales has more haunted locations per square mile than any other country in the world-but don’t take anyone else’s word for it. Find out for yourself!
