There are a number of aids that one can use to help make visualizations more concrete. A good example is the a vision board, something that many of you might be familiar with. This is a bulletin board on which you put pictures of things that you want to attract into your life - a particular car, suit, dress, piece of jewelry, etc.
This kind of aid is a useful tool to help remind you of your goals. It also serves to make your visualizations very specific and more real. It's difficult to have a clear mental image of an abstract concept, like having a nicer car; it's much more effective to focus on a particular car with specific details.
I came up with a visualization tool that I have found very useful - and a lot of fun. I call it my Universe Box. It's very simple to make. I took a small wooden box, though any kind of box or container will do, and added some simple decorations - just enough to make it feel special. I then designated this as my universe.
To make it more specific, I imagined that this was an island. I liked the idea of it being an island because it was easy to imagine it being separated
from the negative influences of the outside world. It was a beautiful deserted island, so it was a blank canvas for me to start building the universe in which I wanted to live. I then imagined what I would like to have on that island.
For example, I wanted a castle, so I got a clear image of a castle in my mind. I then briefly described the castle on a strip of nice paper, making sure I maintained the vision as I wrote. I folded up the piece of paper and placed it in the box. I then imagined other things that I would want there - beautiful flowers, a soft breeze, a special person to share it with, etc.
Whenever I decide to add to my universe, I clear my mind and imagine there is nothing in the world except what I have placed there. Sometimes I read the previous pieces of paper to put me in the right mood. Then I add something new.
This is something that works for me, but it's just an example of a tool that helps create a positive mood and make visualizations clearer. I actually look forward to traveling to this island. It feels so real that just imagining it brings me joy. It puts me in the perfect frame of mind to attract other things that will bring me this same kind of pleasure.
